About Film

To smell our hometown.

The smell of your mother, the smell of her cooking, the smell of your home's futon mattress.

Every time we return to our family home, we are surrounded by smells that bring back old memories.

It is such a blessing to have a home to return to.

Every person has a different emotion toward their hometown.

Pople that have a hometown, people who don't, people wanting to protect their hometown,

and people that can't go home.. ..

various emotions are there, both good and bad.

Today we're going to take a look at Northern Thailand mountain regions.

People who live in mountain regions make their living on agriculture,

and they move land to land each time the soil impoverishes.

Thai government has pushed forward policies to make the mountain region people reside permanently,

and thus the mountain region has become a hometown=a place to go home to.

When we first visited the mountain region in 2016,

we saw that it was different from what we thought we would see.

Cell phones had been popularized, and the young generation were working away from home.

Thatched roofs were now bricks, electricity was available, and the people no longer wore traditional outfits.

The beautiful culture of the mountain people has now evolved and changed.

However there are things that we should keep.

To create a place to go home to, we will visit the northern mountain regions of Thailand in 2017.
